An understanding of, and interest in, politics is something that Simon Balle School seeks to develop through Citizenship lessons and a range of other activities during key stages three and four.  Students in the sixth form can however choose to study the subject specifically as one of their GCE A-level choices.  You can access information about the Edexcel GCE Government & Politics course using the menu bar.

As one of the social sciences, it is an important subject that contributes to a students ability to interact with and shape Britain in the 21st Century.  You can read the vision for Simon Balle students in the social sciences below:

Congratulations to students on latest GCE Politics results

A massive congratulations is due to students who sat their GCE AS and A-level Government & Politics exams in the last session.  The performance of students was excellent and sets them up well for the next stage of their studies.  All of the students who American Flagdid AS Politics last year have continued with their studies into Year 13 and can look forward to investigating American politics during an interesting year with Republican primaries for the party’s nomination for the Presidency.

Best wishes to the last year’s A-level students who have gone onto higher education, with many doing Politics related courses, or into work.
